About Me
I’m Belinda Hill, a cook, teacher and author with a lifelong love of festive food. My career began with Stirring Stuff, the Henley Cookery School I founded, where I shared the joy of cooking with children and adults alike. This is my second book. My first, At Home in Cumbria (2017), celebrated the food and landscape of the Lake District and raised over £20,000 for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.
Stirring Stuff at Christmas brings together family recipes passed down through generations alongside dishes I’ve developed and taught over the years. In support of James’ Place, a charity providing life-saving help for men in suicidal crisis, every pre-order and the first fifty copies sold are being donated in full. My involvement with James’ Place is deeply personal: my late husband, Adrian, took his own life six years ago, and I know how vital such support can be.
I now live in Oxfordshire, where good food, family traditions and community remain at the heart of what I do.
